Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi, Director of Airports Richard Strickland and others outlined details of the Concourse A terminal expansion, projected to take approximately 2.5 years. The project is designed to improve the airport’s level of service and operational flexibility while accommodating projected changes affecting the aviation industry.

The new second-level concourse is to feature nearly 50,000 square feet of space including an extensive contemporary departure area, additional baggage areas and an upgraded security checkpoint that supports up to four security lanes.

In addition, seven passenger boarding jet bridges are to provide all-weather access linking the terminal and aircraft, while an extended passenger bridge is to connect the existing terminal building with the new concourse.

Currently, six carriers — Allegiant, American, Delta, Jet Blue, Silver and United — serve Key West International Airport with daily nonstop flights.

The airport is located at 3491 S. Roosevelt Blvd. near the entrance to Key West. The expansion is targeted for completion by early summer 2025.
